Dorothy Ellen is an Optimist Artist Living in Tennessee

Hi, I’m Dorothy Ellen. Growing up in rural TN it was easy to let my imagination run wild and I’m fortunate to still possess that same childlike creativity today. Translating my graphic design background into abstract fine art has been a rewarding challenge. There are life lessons to be gleaned by trusting one’s artistic gut without the safety net of an "Undo" button. With every painting and creation I'm learning more and more to trust myself and let that inner Muse steer.

Youthful, colorful and playful best describe my abstract collection. Inspired by landscapes, water and light, it features statement paintings with hand-poured, light-catching resin accents, bright colors, and rolling shapes that invite you to join me in a different world. My hope is that these pieces will not only transport you and bring some whimsy into your home but maybe brighten your day as well!
